WHAT IS THE TAX HOLIDAY?
The government has announced a list of items which will be exempt from Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) from December 14, 2024, to February 15, 2025. For restaurants, this includes all food, all non-alcoholic beverages, all beer and malt beverages, all wine, cider and sake up to 22.9% ABV, as well as bottled or canned pre-packaged coolers up to 7% ABV. Spirits and spirit-based cocktails made on premises are not included in the tax holiday.

FAQs - TAX HOLIDAY AT ALL CHARCOAL GROUP RESTAURANTS
Food Menu: All items, dine in and take-out
Beer/Cider Menu: All draft and bottle/cans, dine in and take-out (includes growlers)
Wine Menu: All wine and port with an ABV of 22.9% or less, dine in and take-out
Ready-to-Drink Cocktails: Packaged pre-mixed cocktails, like Willibald kegged cocktails, dine in and take-out
Handmade Cocktails not containing Distilled Spirits and Liqueurs: Example: a mimosa containing only sparkling wine with juice
Retail Food: All retail sauces, coffee & dressings
Handmade Cocktails with Distilled Spirits and Liqueurs: Any drink made to order with hard liquor or liqueur, such as a martini, scotch, sangria, or a mimosa with triple sec (for example), will have GST/HST applied
CG Handmade Bottled Cocktails (Sold at Wildcraft and The Bauer Kitchen Only)
Merchandise: Non-food retail items such as shirts and glassware will have taxes applied
